Packers: Five players key to victory in Week 16 vs. Titans
By Jesse Fry
1. AJ Dillon
After missing five weeks due to COVID-19, AJ Dillon has been used sparingly over the last two games.
That should change this week. Jamaal Williams is doubtful with a quad injury and as good as he is, Aaron Jones will need some help and given a breather from time to time. Head coach Matt LaFleur stated Dillon has had a great week of practice and looks to be all the way back from the virus.
We are not sure exactly what Dillon can bring to the table just yet. He only has 23 carries on the season and has only been thrown to once in the pass game.
With the size and speed he possesses, he has been considered by some to be a version of Derrick Henry, someone who LaFleur coached as offensive coordinator the year before becoming the Packers’ head coach.
That has not yet come to fruition. Jones and Williams’ play, as well as Covid, have kept Dillion on the sideline.
We may finally get to see just what he can do.
His attributes make him perfect for a late December game in Lambeau. Dillon is not the kind of back you want to tackle in sub-freezing temps. He’s a load to bring down and can be the thunder to Jones’ lightning.
This could also be a preview to next year should Williams not re-sign with Green Bay.
