For 16 weeks, no one really knew what the Packers had in second-round pick AJ Dillon. The preseason was taken away due to the pandemic, and Dillon was used sparingly through the first eight weeks before Covid took away another opportunity to shine.

Dillon rejoined the team two weeks ago after missing over a month due to COVID-19 and had one carry for 18 yards since his return. With Jamaal Williams out because of injury, we knew he would get and opportunity to show what he’s got. And he made the most of it.

His day started off slow, only gaining two yards total on his first two carries. But he picked things up in a hurry.

Dillon showed patience, good vision, and speed a guy his size shouldn’t have. He was the perfect fit for a late December game in Lambeau.

On his first touchdown of the game, the Packers were facing a fourth-and-one when Dillon burst through the hole, made quick work of a weak tackle attempt by a Titans defender and raced for a 30-yard score. That was the speed to his game the defense wasn’t expecting.

On his second, Dillon showed the power potential that made him a second-round pick. Dillon took the handoff at about the 11-yard line then ran right through the middle of the Titans defense for the type of strong, physical run the team could use when the weather turns cold.

Dillon also should have fresh legs heading into the postseason and gives the Packers another weapon to go to.

It was his first full game worth of work and it was something for everyone to get excited about.
