5. Aaron Rodgers

For the first time all season, Aaron Rodgers is the frontrunner to be the league’s most valuable player by oddsmakers. His stellar play all season long got him there and another solid performance against a division rival can cement it.

Rodgers has turned back the clock in 2020, playing back at an MVP level after a couple so-so years by his lofty standards.

No one knows how important home-field advantage in the playoffs can be more than Rodgers. He has played in four NFC Championship games with all four coming on the road and one being in the stadium he’s set to play in on Sunday.

Just like that 2010 season, one team had its playoff fate cemented while the other came into the game needing a win to get in. Only this time the roles are reversed. Even though it was 10 years ago, you can bet that memory is still fresh in Rodgers’ head and he does not want the same fate for the Bears.

Rodgers would love nothing more than to secure home-field advantage, the MVP award and send the Bears packing all in one swoop.

He can also set a new career high with just two more touchdown passes or tie it with one.

As I already stated, the Bears could find themselves very thin in the secondary and that has to have Rodgers licking his chops.

The offensive line has played great all season long and should give Rodgers the time he needs to pick the Bears apart.

It’s Week 17 and there’s a lot to play for. Each of these teams control their own destiny. Win and they’re in for the Bears. Win and they’re the number one seed for the Packers.

The stage is set for another classic chapter in a historic rivalry. In many ways, the playoffs start now.
