3. Aaron Rodgers completes MVP season with four touchdowns

It sure felt like Aaron Rodgers took the lead in the MVP race last week. Well, Rodgers can ensure his name is on the trophy with a strong game against the Bears on Sunday. He already leads Patrick Mahomes in many categories such as touchdown passes. Now we know that Mahomes will be rested in Week 17.

Rodgers has a great opportunity to push his touchdown tally closer to 50. If he can throw four touchdowns without an interception this week, his total will move to 48, 10 more than Mahomes, while still having one fewer pick.

Rodgers dominated in the first matchup against the Bears, throwing for 211 yards and four touchdowns.

The concern for the Packers is that left tackle David Bakhtiari is out for the rest of the season.

Well, here are some positives for Green Bay. Chicago’s defense, while still loaded with talent, ranks just 25th in ESPN’s pass rush win rate metric this season. The Bears will also be without cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson and Buster Skrine.

One big difference in this matchup, though, is that the Bears will have Akiem Hicks available. He missed the first game.

Still, expect another strong performance from Rodgers, who takes another step towards the MVP award in his final opportunity to make his case.
