Takeaways from the Packers’ No. 1 seed-clinching win.

Mission accomplished. The Green Bay Packers entered Soldier Field knowing exactly what they needed to do to secure the number one seed. Forget about the other games around the league. Win and home-field advantage was theirs.

It wasn’t easy.

At times in the third quarter, a few mistakes swung momentum the Chicago Bears’ way and it sure looked like the outcome could be completely different. But the Packers accelerated in the fourth quarter and quite quickly put the game beyond the Bears.

With the victory, the Packers take their win streak to six. They finish the regular season with a 13-3 record, matching last year’s. This season, however, it’s good enough for the No. 1 seed. A year ago, they missed out on a tiebreaker and had to settle for the No. 2.

The Packers get a well-deserved rest next week before awaiting the lowest remaining seed at Lambeau Field in the divisional round. A trip to Tampa is now just two victories away for Matt LaFleur’s team, and they get the luxury of staying in Green Bay for the playoffs. Will Aaron Rodgers get to finally play in a home NFC title game?

The Packers got the win in Week 17, and here are three takeaways.
