Conference championship

So, the Packers get the job done in their first playoff game and advance to the same round they reached last season. This time it’d be at Lambeau Field and not on the road. Who could they face?

Best-case scenario: Washington Football Team

Green Bay could come up against Washington in the divisional round, but there’s also a couple of scenarios that would see these two teams meet in the NFC title game. As the fourth seed, Washington would avoid Green Bay in the divisional round if either the Chicago Bears or Los Angeles Rams also won.

For all the reasons mentioned earlier, the Packers would have to fancy their chances of advancing past the 7-9 Washington Football Team at Lambeau with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Worst-case scenario: New Orleans Saints

Yes, the Packers defeated the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, on the road no less, but it was a close game and the Saints have improved since then.

For starters, the Packers were without Davante Adams and the Saints didn’t have Michael Thomas available in that game. That alone changes things for both teams.

Then there’s the Saints defense, which ranks fourth overall, fifth against the pass, and fourth against the run. Allowing just over 21 points per game, this would be a tough test for the Packers offense.

And with the sixth-ranked rushing offense, the Saints have a team built to win in the cold at Lambeau.
