There may not be anyone playing better on defense than Adrian Amos. He is stacking the box in the run game, all over the field in the pass game, and making quarterbacks pay when they do throw his way.

For the second straight year, Amos has made his former team and quarterback pay with a game-clinching interception.

With just over three minutes to go and the Bears down by 12, Mitch Trubisky and the Bears were driving for what could have made the game a one-score affair. Trubisky tried to fire a pass into his tight end Cole Kmet when Amos jumped the route and picked him off and for all intents and purposes, sealed the game.

If the Bears don’t already, they must regret letting him go prior to last season. Amos has been all the Packers thought he would be when they signed him prior to the 2019 season and is starting to flourish in Mike Pettine’s system.

The star of the defense’s accession also seems to coincide with the play of Amos, the run defense in particular.

The best part about Amos’ game is he isn’t a one-trick pony. He isn’t just a box safety there for run support or someone who only has speed to play centerfield. No, he can play both in the box and in coverage, making it harder for offenses to read his intentions.
