Aaron Rodgers: Top 3 moments for 2020 MVP season
2. Aaron Rodgers reaches his 400th career touchdown pass
Aaron Rodgers threw his 400th career touchdown pass against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13.
Not only is 400 career passing touchdowns an incredible milestone, but he also threw it quicker than any other QB to reach 400. To put it into perspective, legendary Drew Brees reached 400 TDs in 205 games. Rodgers completed the milestone in 193 games.
His 400th TD came on an RPO play call in the third quarter to who else, Davante Adams. Adams then continued to get on two knees and present Rodgers with the 400th TD football.
But why do it in such a fashionable manner?
Here’s why.
This was the first century mark (100th, 200th, 300th) TD ball that Rodgers was finally able to keep for his mantle.
For his 100th career TD pass, former Packers WR James Jones tossed it into the Falcons stands back in 2011.
Rodgers’ 200th career TD pass was dished to Davante Adams back in 2014 against the Vikings. Rodgers graciously allowed Adams to keep the football as it was his first career TD reception.
Former Packers RB Ty Montgomery caught Rodgers 300th TD back in 2017. Rodgers lost track of the touchdown ball and was unable to eventually retrieve it.
Adams’ delivery of the TD ball to Rodgers was the cherry on top to yet another Aaron Rodgers milestone checked off.
#400 can finally go on the wall of accomplishments.
