Kevin King may have just played his last game in a Packers uniform

Dud #2: Kevin King

Kevin King was absolutely brutal in this game and he may have played his last game for the Packers. The play at the end of the half was downright inexcusable and there should be consequences.

King had a solid 2019 but has always been the type of corner who gets beat and is a very poor tackler. Injuries have also plagued his short career and that was no different this season. King missed five games this season and was even questionable heading into this game. King was a former early second-round pick in 2017, with the Packers drafting him 33rd overall.

With his performance on Sunday, I can’t imagine a scenario in which King is on the team next season. He is an upcoming free-agent and is probably going to command money that the Packers just don’t have at the moment.

King is capable of being a quality CB at times but 2020 was a rough year for him. I feel that it’s best if the two parties part ways for 2021. King leaving would open up a big need at the cornerback position and this where I think Green Bay should look in the draft. Bringing in a strong veteran presence can also help a very young secondary so free agency wouldn’t be a bad option either.
