Round 2 (61): Paulson Adebo, CB, Stanford

It’s no secret that cornerback is the Packers’ top need this offseason. I’m in favor of Brian Gutekunst doubling-down at the position similar to how he has in the past. Given the importance of having depth at cornerback, Gutekunst should consider signing a free agent to pair with an early draft pick.

With Kevin King a free agent, who will start with All-Pro Jaire Alexander in 2021? Josh Jackson could barely get on the field once King returned from injury. Barring a big jump from a young corner on the roster like Ka’dar Hollman or Stanford Samuels, the Packers will need to find a starting cornerback this offseason.

Even if they do sign a free agent, Green Bay should consider drafting a corner early.

And in the second round, Stanford’s Paulson Adebo could be one of the steals of the draft. Due to the fact he opted out of the 2020 season, it’s possible he could slide into Day 2 simply because of a lack of recent performances to watch.

But Adebo has the potential to become an excellent starter in the NFL. With an impressive 27 pass defenses and eight interceptions in just two seasons at Stanford, Adebo gets his hands on the football. At 6-foot-1, 192 pounds, he has good size and could quickly make an impact in Green Bay’s secondary.
