Packers: Top 5 most entertaining games from 2020 season
#5 – Packers vs. Vikings (Week 1)
The first game of the season got off to a slow start with the Green Bay Packers scoring no touchdowns in their opening three drives, a rarity in 2020.
Things finally got going when the Packers exploded with 19 points in the second quarter. This theme would continue throughout the season as the Packers finished the 2020 campaign as the highest scoring second quarter team in NFL history.
This game showcased the first of many deep TDs to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, along with a safety forced by Jaire Alexander on Kirk Cousins following a goal line stop by the Vikings D. Don’t forget Aaron Rodgers’ laser TD on the run to Davante Adams, firmly putting #12 in the MVP conversation right from the jump.
The game was topped off by a remarkably bizarre fourth quarter, where both offenses could do no wrong. The Vikings and Packers combined for 48 total fourth quarter points! There were six straight drives resulting in touchdowns to finish off the season opener.
At the time, it felt like even though the Vikings kept answering Green Bay, the game was never truly close in the fourth quarter. Either way, we all love scoring, so this one had to make the list.
