Packers: Complete list of Green Bay’s 2021 draft picks
Barring any trades, the Green Bay Packers will hit the clock a total of 10 times in next month’s draft.
The Packers have at least one pick in each round of the draft, with three additional selections being awarded due to last year’s free agency signings and departures.
We now know the Packers’ complete list of picks in the draft, which are below:
- Round 1, 29th overall
- Round 2, 62nd overall
- Round 3, 92nd overall
- Round 4, 135th overall
- Round 4, 142nd overall
- Round 5, 173rd overall
- Round 5, 178th overall
- Round 6, 214th overall
- Round 6, 220th overall
- Round 7, 256th overall
It’s hard not to be excited with that. Entering the draft with double-digit selections is never a bad thing. Either Green Bay gets to take 10 swings of the bat, increasing its chances of landing starting-level talent, or it can use these picks to move up the order.
Keep an eye on that 29th overall pick. GM Brian Gutekunst has shown in the past three years not to just sit back and relax on Day 1 of the draft. At any moment he could trade up. Previous first-round trade-ups have seen the Packers land Jaire Alexander, Darnell Savage, and Jordan Love.
The three compensatory picks were awarded to Green Bay after the team lost two starters in free agency last year, Blake Martinez and Bryan Bulaga, as well as Kyler Fackrell.
The Packers are yet to make a signing in free agency and have lost All-Pro center Corey Linsley and running back Jamaal Williams.
Chances are, Green Bay will make a signing or two prior to the draft next month, which could make an impact on the team’s draft plans. For now, cornerback, defensive tackle, and offensive tackle are among the Packers’ most important positions to address this offseason.
With 10 picks to work with, they’ll have more than enough opportunities to address each position.
