It’s been a busy week around the NFL and while the Green Bay Packers have been quiet, they’ve made a few roster moves.

The Packers have brought back cornerback Kevin King and tight end Marcedes Lewis as they attempt to re-sign as many important players from last season’s NFC Championship team as possible.

The list of Packers to sign elsewhere in free agency is now up to five.

And there are still a number of remaining free agents the team has yet to make a decision on.

Packers remaining free agents

  • Lane Taylor, G
  • Tyler Ervin, RB
  • Tavon Austin, WR
  • Tyler Lancaster, DT
  • Damon Harrison, DT
  • Will Redmond, S
  • Billy Winn, DE
  • James Burgess, ILB
  • Parry Nickerson, CB
  • Raven Greene, S
  • Jared Veldheer, T

Re-signed

  • Aaron Jones, RB
  • Kevin King, CB
  • Marcedes Lewis, TE

Signed elsewhere

  • Corey Linsley, C (Los Angeles Chargers)
  • Jamaal Williams, RB (Detroit Lions)
  • Tim Boyle, QB (Detroit Lions)
  • Montravius Adams, DT (New England Patriots)
  • Christian Kirksey, ILB (Houston Texans)

How many more moves can we expect the Packers to make in free agency? It’s certainly possible they’ll look to make a big free agency signing at some point, although they are yet to do that.

Of the remaining free agents they haven’t brought back, re-signing Lane Taylor would make sense. It also wouldn’t be surprising if the team eventually worked out new deals with either Will Redmond or Raven Greene to provide some more depth at safety.

The biggest takeaways from free agency so far for Green Bay is that the offensive line will look a bit different in 2021 with Corey Linsley and Rick Wagner gone, as will the backfield with no Jamaal Williams. Jordan Love will also be promoted to the backup QB position with Tim Boyle joining Williams with the Lions.
