Packers will still be the dominant NFC North team in 2021
This past season, the Green Bay Packers won the NFC North which is always a huge accomplishment. The Vikings, Lions, and Bears just weren’t on the same level as the Packers.
While the other three teams in the NFC North have some talented athletes, they simply do not measure up to Green Bay’s athletes and team chemistry.
Though changes may occur during the offseason, there are particular reasons why the Packers will still be the dominant NFC North team in 2021.
Aaron Rodgers
The most obvious reason Green Bay will continue to dominate the conference is superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers. In 2020, he threw for 4,941 yards, 53 touchdowns, only six interceptions, and a 84.4 quarterback rating.
The three-time MVP award winner has made a huge impact with his ability to make extraordinary plays. His ability to extend plays is what makes him even more impressive, and the other NFC North quarterbacks have struggled in that area.
Rodgers is by far the best NFC North quarterback. Even with the Lions trading Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff, Goff doesn’t even come close to the greatness of Rodgers.
With Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the Packers should have no problem conquering the NFC North again.
Best offense in the NFC North
The Packers proved this past season that they have the best offense in the conference. As Lombardi Ave’s Daire Carragher wrote, Green Bay ranked #1 offense in the NFL in terms of scoring for the 2020-2021 season.
Besides Aaron Rodgers, other big-time playmakers like Davante Adams, Aaron Jones, Robert Tonyan, and Allen Lazard have shined for the Packers. The great protection from the offensive line also helped tremendously.
No other NFC North team has the explosiveness on offense like the Packers. Once the Packers start racking up points, they are a hard team to beat which is a major reason why they will continue to be the top team in the NFC North.
Packers have most talented roster
While the other three conference teams have great athletes, the Packers have the most talented roster which gives them an advantage. Of course they have the great Aaron Rodgers. Plus, other offensive playmakers such Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Robert Tonyan, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Marcedes Lewis, and the sturdy offensive linemen make for a powerhouse offense.
Even though the defense has its issues, it helps to have top-notch playmakers like Za’Darius Smith, Preston Smith, Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage, Kenny Clark, Krys Barnes, and Jaire Alexander. Depth is an important component for any team. Neither the Vikings, Lions, or Bears have as much depth as the Packers. Green Bay will continue to use their depth to their advantage to remain atop of the conference.
Considering the elements involved, it is easy to see how the Packers have dominated the NFC North this past season and many other seasons. Green Bay is looking to have many more winning seasons. If they work hard and stay focused, they will once again become the NFC North Champions in 2021.
