The new league year is almost a month old and the 2021 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away.

While the focus is understandably turning to the draft, the Green Bay Packers still have a number of remaining free agents.

Below is a list of their remaining free agents, along with an updated list of re-signed players, and players who have signed with other teams.

Packers remaining 2021 free agents

  • Tavon Austin, WR
  • James Burgess, ILB
  • Tyler Ervin, RB
  • Raven Greene, S
  • Damon Harrison, DT
  • Parry Nickerson, CB
  • Lane Taylor, G
  • Billy Winn, DE

Realistically, how many of these players will the Packers re-sign before the start of the season? It’s unlikely many of them will be back.

Perhaps Green Bay will consider bringing back either Tavon Austin or Tyler Ervin for their work on special teams. Raven Greene is a good player who provides valuable depth at safety but he’s been unable to stay healthy in recent years.

Lane Taylor has suffered back-to-back season-ending injuries but if he’s fully recovered from a torn ACL, I’d love to see him back in Green Bay.

Which free agents have Packers re-signed?

  • Aaron Jones, RB
  • Kevin King, CB
  • Tyler Lancaster, DT
  • Marcedes Lewis, TE

The big move was to re-sign Aaron Jones just days before the official start of free agency. Bringing back Marcedes Lewis makes a ton of sense given how important he is to the offense as a blocker.

Defensively, Kevin King and Tyler Lancaster provide some depth. King gets a one-year “prove-it” deal.

Which free agents have Packers lost?

  • Montravius Adams, DE
  • Tim Boyle, QB
  • Christian Kirksey, ILB
  • Corey Linsley, C
  • Jamaal Williams, RB

Tim Boyle takes the Laser Show to Detroit where, who knows, maybe he’ll compete with Jared Goff for the starting job eventually.

The biggest loss is All-Pro center Corey Linsley, one of the best at his position in the league. Linsley will be tough to replace.

Jamaal Williams will help the Lions’ backfield improve. The Packers move forward with AJ Dillon as the number two running back.
