The Green Bay Packers traded up for Jaire Alexander, Darnell Savage, and Jordan Love in the first round of consecutive drafts.

GM Brian Gutekunst loves to move up on Day 1. Will he do it again this year? In this four-round mock draft, we look at that possibility with Gutekunst aiming to address the Packers’ most important area of need this offseason, cornerback.

The Packers enter the draft with 10 selections, with their first at No. 29 overall.

Trade up, anyone? Let’s go.

Note: I put this together using the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator.

The good news is the Packers get to move up eight positions and land one of the best cornerbacks in the class. The bad news is they have to give up a third-round pick to make it happen, meaning Brian Gutekunst can’t draft another tight end.

I like this trade for both teams.

Green Bay is aggressive as it looks to fix a big need on defense. If there’s a prospect Gutekunst loves, he will do what it takes to move up if necessary. And that’s the way to go. Don’t just sit and wait for who’s left. If there’s a potential difference-maker on the board, trade up if that’s what it takes.

The Indianapolis Colts enter the draft without a third-round pick. With this trade, they move down eight spots but add a valuable Day 2 selection.
