Packers: Aaron Rodgers takes note of MVS route-running tweet
The work is well underway for the 2021 season. The Green Bay Packers will be aiming to build on their No. 1-ranked offense last year, and wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a key part of that.
MVS has come a long way and put together his best season in 2020. But he’s continuing to work on his game, and Aaron Rodgers appears to be impressed.
Valdes-Scantling tweeted a video of him running a route and making a catch, and the three-time MVP tweeted his response.

Valdes-Scantling emerged as an outstanding deep threat last season. According to Pro Football Focus, he tied with Tyreek Hill for five receiving touchdowns of 40-plus yards, most in the NFL.
But if MVS can continue to develop the other areas of his game, look out. We saw signs of this last season. He wasn’t just a deep threat for the Packers and made some key plays all over the field.
It’s important for Valdes-Scantling to work on his consistency and cut out a few of the mistakes such as drops. But if he can take a similar step to last year in his play, MVS will be set for a great season.
Sure, the video only shows one play, but it’s easy to see why Rodgers was impressed. MVS was doing his best Davante Adams impression with a great release, backed up with an excellent route. He left the defender on the floor as he made the catch.
MVS had a career-year in 2020 with 33 catches for 690 yards and six touchdowns. He’s clearly putting in the work to continue to develop his game as a wide receiver. He’s already made significant improvements in recent years and there’s good reason for Rodgers and Packers fans to be excited about what he can bring to Matt LaFleur’s offense later this year.
