Packers 2021 mock draft roundup: Eric Stokes in first round?
Less than two weeks away from the start of the 2021 NFL Draft, we still have absolutely no idea who the Green Bay Packers will consider in the first round.
Tackle? Wide receiver? Cornerback? It’s all in play.
This week’s mock draft roundup includes picks at each of those positions.
NFL Spin Zone
Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, LSU
Terrace Marshall Jr. is a name that has come up with the Packers in mock drafts throughout the offseason. Randy Gurzi of NFL Spin Zone has Marshall going to Green Bay in his latest mock, too.
It’s certainly understandable. Marshall averaged over 100 receiving yards per game and put up 10 touchdowns in only seven games last season. He has the potential to be a good No. 2 opposite Davante Adams.
The Draft Network
Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia
With a need at cornerback, could the Packers turn to Georgia’s Eric Stokes in the first round? Stokes has great speed and ran an unofficial 4.25-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. Trevor Sikkema of The Draft Network has Stokes going to Green Bay in his mock draft.
There are questions about whether Stokes should be a first-round pick and whether he can develop into a starting corner on the outside, but time will tell. Stokes definitely has potential.
CBS Sports
Christian Darrisaw, OL, Virginia Tech
It would be hard not to like this pick.
If Christian Darrisaw is still on the board when the Packers pick, he could be a great addition on offense. That’s exactly what happens in this mock draft by Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports. With David Bakhtiari recovering from a torn ACL, Darrisaw could start immediately at either tackle spot. Long term, he can be the starting right tackle opposite Bakhtiari.
NFL.com
Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern
Yes. Yes. Yes. Where can I sign up for this?
Greg Newsome II to the Packers without needing to trade up? Charles Davis of NFL.com believes it’s possible in his latest mock draft.
This could be the best-case scenario for Green Bay at No. 29. Newsome is incredibly talented and could potentially go inside the top 20 picks. But if he’s still there when the Packers hit the clock, I might run up to the podium myself and make the pick on behalf of Brian Gutekunst.
