Draft day is here. The question now is which wide receiver will the Green Bay Packers select in the first round tonight?

Well, we’ve been there before. A year ago, in fact. And cornerback is considered a greater need than wide receiver for the Packers this offseason.

But a recent mock draft by FanSided has Green Bay fixing last year’s error of night drafting a wide receiver by landing one of the top pass-catchers in the class in the first round.

In what’s set to be a fascinating first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Brad Weiss of FanSided sees Green Bay drafting a receiver on Day 1 for the first time in almost two decades. In Weiss’ final mock draft, Aaron Rodgers gets the help he needs as the Packers select Elijah Moore out of Mississippi.

It’s an interesting mock draft that sees five of the first six picks be used on quarterbacks. It would be absolutely no surprise if this happened in the real draft later tonight. It would be great news for the Packers as more talented players at non-QB positions fall further down the order.

Moore would be an exciting draft pick for the Packers. He’s one of many receivers in this class who is excellent at picking up yards after the catch.

The Packers could look for a slot receiver in this draft, and there aren’t many better options than Moore. According to Pro Football Focus, he has 1,738 yards from the slot since 2019, which is first in college football. It’s a role he could immediately step into in Matt LaFleur’s offense.

In his final season at Ole Miss, Moore caught 86 passes for 1,193 yards and eight touchdowns.

A talented receiver who can help the Packers from Day 1, Moore would be a player fans should be excited about.

Who do you hope Green Bay selects No. 29 overall (or trades for) in tonight’s opening round?
