The wait was worth it. The Green Bay Packers have got their wide receiver, and they got a good one.

After trading away a fourth-round pick to move up seven spots, the Packers have selected Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers, and there are a lot of reasons to love this pick.

Don’t just take my word for it. Lombardi Ave’s Daire Carragher wrote a great article on why Rodgers can be Randall Cobb 2.0 in the Packers offense.

Now we just have to hope Aaron Rodgers sticks around the for A. Rodgers to A. Rodgers connection to come to life in Green Bay.

Rodgers is great after the catch and will be an ideal complement to the other offensive weapons the Packers have. Last season at Clemson, he caught 77 passes for 1,020 yards and seven touchdowns.

So that does it for the second day of the 2021 NFL Draft. Before this pick, the Packers addressed two needs at cornerback and center. First, they selected Eric Stokes with the 29th overall pick, a player who will compete for a starting spot in the secondary right away.

The Packers then turned to the offensive line and their need at center following Corey Linsley’s departure in free agency. They selected another Ohio State center, Josh Myers. Again, Myers could be a starter immediately. We just don’t yet know who he will be snapping the ball to.

Now in the third, they’ve gone with offense again, selecting Rodgers out of Clemson.

Green Bay’s recent history in the third round is not great. They’ll be hoping that will change with this pick. Here are the Packers’ past seven third-round picks: Josiah Deguara, Jace Sternberger, Oren Burks, Montravius Adams, Kyler Fackrell, Ty Montgomery, Khyri Thornton.

Green Bay has addressed three needs with their top three picks. What are your thoughts on their work in the opening two days?
