The Green Bay Packers made a total of nine picks in the 2021 NFL Draft and addressed many of their biggest needs.

With their first four picks, the Packers checked off four different needs on their to-do list, landing one of the top cornerbacks and centers in the class, a talented wide receiver, and a versatile offensive lineman.

Later on, they added more depth across the board including to the offensive and defensive lines, and in the secondary.

Here is the Packers’ complete 2021 draft class:

Packers 2021 draft class

  • Round 1 (29): Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia
  • Round 2 (62): Josh Myers, C, Ohio State
  • Round 3 (85): Amari Rodgers, WR, Clemson
  • Round 4 (142): Royce Newman, T/G, Mississippi
  • Round 5 (173): T.J. Slaton, DT, Florida
  • Round 5 (178): Shemar Jean-Charles, DB, Appalachian State
  • Round 6 (214): Cole Van Lanen, T/G, Wisconsin
  • Round 6 (220): Isaiah McDuffie, LB, Boston College
  • Round 7 (256): Kylin Hill, RB, Mississippi State

It’s hard not to be impressed with this draft class. While it’s impossible to tell whether it’s a successful draft for a couple of years at least, on paper right now, it’s an encouraging one. The Packers have focused on fixing many of their biggest needs while adding depth at other positions.

On the final day of the draft, the team strengthened the offensive line with two more versatile linemen, added a versatile defensive back, a linebacker, defensive tackle, and running back.

My pick of the draft is Amari Rodgers. I loved Rodgers going into the draft and the fit in Matt LaFleur’s offense. And now we’ll get to see it. Rodgers will be a fun player to watch and he’s just what the offense needs.

It’s been an interesting few days for Green Bay with so much going on. But despite all of the Aaron Rodgers drama, Gutekunst and his team have put together what looks to be a good draft class.

What are your thoughts of the class?
