The Green Bay Packers have made their selections for the 2021 NFL Draft and eyes are now starting to move towards the offseason programs. When a team drafts a player, obviously the idea is that the player will be a contributor at some point in their career.

No one wants to draft someone to never see the field, whether it be due to injury or poor performance. I feel that the argument can be made that Green Bay will have several draftees getting legitimate snaps in their first year.

This obviously wasn’t the case in 2020 with hardly any of their rookies seeing the field. Josiah Deguara, who was expected to get some decent playing time, suffered a season-ending injury early on. AJ Dillon, Kamal Martin, and Jon Runyan Jr. saw the field, albeit in a limited fashion.

Packers may have added several contributors

Looking at who the Packers selected, a few of these guys may be getting a lot of snaps right out of the gate, while others may have to earn their position over time. When teams add new players, it’s easy to look at who they might be replacing and that is exactly what we will be looking at today.

Immediately after the draft is usually an exciting time to be a fan. Your favorite team has added new players at positions that need them. Not only is it exciting to have new players but it can also light a fire under the player who is currently on the roster at that spot.

So let’s take a look at our first player on notice post-draft.
