Packers: PFF spot on with Davante Adams top of 2021 WR rankings

Pro Football Focus is working through different position groups and ranking the best players in the league. Green Bay Packers star Davante Adams proved last year he’s the best wide receiver in the game last season.

And PFF agrees. In their 2021 wide receiver rankings, they have Adams at the top.

To be fair, there are a few different candidates for top spot. Had they chosen DeAndre Hopkins, a solid argument could certainly be made. But there will be no complaints here with the choice to put Adams on top.

Coming off a career-year, Adams is close to unstoppable at his best. He’s been consistently great since the 2016 season, making the Pro Bowl four straight years. Last season, Adams was named first-team All-Pro.

With an incredible 115 receptions, 1,374 yards, and a league-high 18 receiving touchdowns — and doing so in only 14 games — Adams proved he’s the best in the business.

The argument that the Packers haven’t surrounded Aaron Rodgers with talent is laughable. Sure, adding some more talent at wide receiver was a need, which they did by drafting Amari Rodgers in the third round, but there’s a reason why this offense led the league in scoring last season.

Adams is an All-Pro wide receiver. Aaron Jones is one of the best running backs in the league. And with David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins, the Packers have a dominant offensive line.

Whether it’s Rodgers, Jordan Love, or Blake Bortles throwing the football in 2021, Adams will again be key to the success of this offense. With his release off the line, great hands, and ability to make plays after the catch, there isn’t a whole lot defensive backs can do when Adams is at his dominant best.

We don’t yet know whether the reigning MVP will be back in Green Bay this season, but for at least one more year, the Packers have the best wide receiver in football in Davante Adams.
