The Green Bay Packers ended the Los Angeles Rams’ season back in January, but Sean McVay’s team have strengthened in the offseason.

These two teams will meet again at Lambeau Field this season in what should be one of the most interesting battles of the year in the NFC. And it could be huge for the playoff standings.

With a new quarterback to lead McVay’s system, what can the Packers expect from the Rams this time?

Last season

The Rams missed the playoffs in 2019 just one year after reaching the Super Bowl, but they bounced back last season. A 10-6 record wasn’t enough to take home the NFC West title, but they did advance further than any team in their division.

The Rams eliminated the Seattle Seahawks on the road in the wild-card round, but only made it one more week as they were beaten by the Packers at Lambeau in the divisional round.

When is the game?

The playoff rematch at Lambeau Field will take place just before the Packers’ bye in Week 12. It’ll be played at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 28.

Offseason additions/departures

While the Rams did lose some important players in free agency like safety John Johnson, tight end Gerald Everett, and cornerback Troy Hill, the most notable move saw them upgrade at quarterback by trading for Matthew Stafford.

In this offense, Stafford can make the Rams Super Bowl contenders once more.

Player to watch

Matthew Stafford: We’ve seen some great battles between Stafford and the Packers over the years, but the key difference here is Stafford is no longer with the Detroit Lions. Leading McVay’s offense and with a strong supporting cast, Stafford can finally reach his potential. He’s had plenty of success against Green Bay’s defense in the past and he’ll be in position for another good game here.
