Eight years ago, the Aaron Rodgers-Jordy Nelson connection helped the Green Bay Packers defeat the Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens on the road.

The Packers were defeated by the Ravens at Lambeau Field, without Rodgers, four years ago.

Two Super Bowl contenders in 2021, the Packers and Ravens meet again in the 2021 regular season.

Last season

The Ravens won three fewer games in 2020 than the season prior, but it still put them in good position with an 11-5 record, enough for a wild-card berth.

Baltimore overcame the Tennessee Titans, the team that eliminated them in 2019, but lost a low-scoring game to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.

When is the game?

The Packers take on the Ravens in Week 15. It will kick off at 12 noon CT on Sunday, Dec. 19.

Offseason additions/departures

The Ravens lost edge rushers Matt Judon and Yannick Ngakoue, and also traded Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Brown Jr. to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Baltimore did add some talent on offense, signing guard Kevin Zeitler and wide receiver Sammy Watkins. The Ravens doubled-down at receiver by drafting Rashod Bateman in the first round. Bateman can be a star in the Ravens’ offense.

Player to watch

Lamar Jackson: How can it not be the 2019 NFL MVP?

We’re going to hear a lot about the battle of the two quarterbacks in this matchup (assuming Aaron Rodgers is still in Green Bay). The defending MVP up against the MVP from the season before.

Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and he now has an improved wide receiver corps to work with. Not only has Jackson thrown for 62 touchdowns and just 15 interceptions in his first two full seasons as a starter, but he’s also rushed for 2,211 yards and and 14 touchdowns in that time.

The Packers will need a good game plan to stop Jackson and a talented Ravens offense.
