Packers land superstar at wide receiver

Minnesota Vikings: WR Justin Jefferson

It’s tough to not pick either Danielle Hunter or Harrison Smith here, but Justin Jefferson is just so talented. Put him in the same offense as Davante Adams and Aaron Jones and we can just hand the Lombardi Trophy to the Packers. Nobody is stopping them.

Unfortunately for Packers fans, Jefferson proved to be every bit as talented as we all thought as we hoped he’d fall to Green Bay in last year’s draft. It was painful to see the Vikings select him in the first round, and only made worse as he enjoyed a breakout rookie season.

To be named a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro in your rookie year isn’t easy, but Jefferson achieved it after catching 88 passes for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns.

And to make it even worse for Packers fans, Jefferson playing in Green Bay was a possibility. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Packers tried to trade up for him in last year’s draft.

Oh, how that could’ve changed things. It would’ve meant no trade up for Jordan Love in the first round, meanwhile the offense would have by far the best WR duo in football.

Instead, the Packers have to try to cover Jefferson twice a year. Well, unless Brian Gutekunst can make this article a reality, somehow.
