With star players at some of the most important positions on the roster, the Green Bay Packers have made it to consecutive NFC Championship Games.

This past offseason, the Packers lost one of their star players, center Corey Linsley, in free agency. But they were able to re-sign running back Aaron Jones. For the most part, the Packers have retained their key players.

Entering the 2021 season, Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has ranked the top 100 players in the NFL. This year, that list includes seven Packers players. That’s more than a 20th of the entire list. Considering there are 32 teams in the league, that’s pretty good going.

Which Packers made the Top 100?

Packers in CBS Sports Top 100 for 2021

  • Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the reigning NFL MVP, is unsurprisingly the highest Packer on the list, coming in at No. 3.
  • Star receiver Davante Adams wasn’t far behind, making the list at No. 7, first among all wide receivers.
  • Jaire Alexander is at No. 14 and is ranked first among cornerbacks.
  • Even as he recovers from a torn ACL, left tackle David Bakhtiari is at No. 27.
  • Edge rusher Za’Darius Smith has been one of the Packers’ most consistent defensive players the past two years, and he’s at No. 52.
  • Running back Aaron Jones signed a four-year extension this offseason and makes the list at No. 84.
  • Entering year three, rising-star offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins is No. 91 in the rankings and could be even higher in 2022.

Safety Adrian Amos was part of the “Just Missed” category. He deservedly gets an honorable mention after a great 2020 season.

Not only are they talented players, but think about the positions they play. Passer, pass catcher, two pass protectors, pass rusher, pass defender. No wonder this team has been so successful in recent seasons.

Corey Linsley, who was a key member of the offensive line for years, also makes the list at No. 68. The Packers will miss him this season.
