Entering his fourth season with the Green Bay Packers, Jaire Alexander is already one of the best cornerbacks in the entire league.

And it’s hard to believe he’s still only 24 years old.

Ahead of the 2021 season, which begins in only a few months, NFL.com’s Nick Shook has put together an All-Under-25 Team, highlighting the best young players at every position across the league.

Unsurprisingly, Alexander is one of the starting cornerbacks in the team along with Denzel Ward, who was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the same draft class.

Jaire Alexander is Packers’ best defensive player

Not only is Alexander one of the best players under 25 in the NFL, but he’s also arguably the Packers’ most important defensive player. He’s in that conversation with Za’Darius Smith and Kenny Clark.

After making 13 pass defenses and shutting down just about every wide receiver he came up against last season, Alexander was voted to his first Pro Bowl and named a second-team All-Pro. He was also Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded cornerback in 2020.

The good news for the Packers is that while Alexander is their only player to make NFL.com’s All-Under-25 Team, they have many young stars on the roster.

One is third-year offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, who is 25 years old and already a Pro Bowler. Another is third-year safety Darnell Savage, who could have a breakout 2021 season. He’s still only 23 years old.

Then there is Kenny Clark who, despite entering his sixth season with the Packers, is still also only 25 years old.

But if you had to choose one young player on the Packers’ roster to be excited about for the future, it’s Jaire Alexander. He’s already been named an All-Pro and Pro Bowler in his first three seasons, and he can become a shutdown cornerback for the Packers for many more years to come.
