Offensive line (9)

David Bakhtiari, Elgton Jenkins, Josh Myers, Lucas Patrick, Billy Turner, Royce Newman, Jon Runyan Jr., Ben Braden, Cole Van Lanen

The best left tackle in football is currently recovering from an ACL surgery and should be ready to go early in the season if not sooner.

Jenkins is the Swiss-army knife of this offensive line is one of the best young emerging offensive linemen in the NFL. Jenkins is capable of starting at any spot on the line, and will be able to play wherever helps the team most.

Myers was a second-round draft pick this season that was drafted to replace All-Pro center Corey Linsley. Myers is already running with the ones and is athletic enough to offer versatility anywhere on the interior.

Patrick started most of last season at guard. Patrick is a serviceable option at all three interior spots but the team is surely looking for an upgrade. There will be an open competition and if the talent is comparable or better than Patrick, don’t be shocked if he’s a cap casualty.

Turner is another versatile option on the O-line who has a starting spot spoken for. Turner may have found his best spot last season at right tackle.

Newman is a fourth-rounder this year who got first-team reps at both guard spots as well as right tackle in mini-camp. I expect Newman to be given every chance to earn playing time.

Runyan showed impressive flashes in 2020 at guard. JRJ will also get a chance to earn snaps. Worst-case scenario he’s a preferred interior option off the bench.

Braden should make the roster as a preferred option at swing tackle or possibly a backup on the interior. Adam Stenavich spoke glowingly about Braden and the progress he’s made, even mentioning a shot at earning playing time.

Van Lanen is a state product and a likely fan favorite. The Packers feel as though there is untapped potential here and have had success transitioning tackles to the interior if he’s unable to handle the tackle position in the NFL.
