5 teams that could trade for Packers QB Aaron Rodgers
Training camp begins later this month but the Green Bay Packers still face uncertainty with the future of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers didn’t attend the Packers’ OTAs or mandatory minicamp last month, which only added to the drama about his future, which all started on draft day when ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported he didn’t want to return.
It’s entirely possible that the reigning MVP and the Packers find a resolution in the coming weeks and Rodgers returns in time for training camp. But what if his stance is unchanged and he really does want to leave?
Maybe then the Packers would have to seriously consider trading away their superstar QB earlier than they had ever dreamed of.
They would need to get a good deal in return, perhaps a combination of draft picks with young players to build around as they transition to the Jordan Love era. The Packers would also likely want to trade Rodgers to an AFC team, if possible. But that doesn’t always work out in their favor, as we saw when Brett Favre ended up playing for the Minnesota Vikings despite being traded to the New York Jets.
So, what if the unthinkable happens this summer? Here are five teams that could make sense in a Rodgers trade.
