5 Packers players set to turn heads at 2021 training camp
Preparations for the new season are well underway, and this will reach the next stage when the Green Bay Packers begin their training camp in a couple of weeks.
Training camp provides an opportunity for players on the roster to make an impact and show why they deserve more snaps during the regular season, and for some it’s a chance to prove why they should earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
Along the way there will be surprises, impressive performances, and fascinating positional battles.
Which five Packers could turn heads at training camp this year?
5. AJ Dillon
Many were critical of the decision to draft AJ Dillon in the second round of last year’s draft, but to his credit, that didn’t faze him and he made the most of his opportunities.
While it was true Dillon was the third-string running back behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams, the pick always felt like it would be for 2021 and beyond. Williams now plays for a division rival and Dillon will see his opportunities in the backfield significantly increase this season.
That should also mean more snaps with the first-team offense over the summer.
Dillon proved to be difficult to tackle in his rookie season. When given a bigger opportunity, he dominated.
Dillon will be a player to watch this summer and he could be one of the standout performers at training camp.
