Running backs (3)

Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Kylin Hill

Perhaps the Packers will keep a fourth running back for depth, but they’d likely need to see one of the other backs on the roster step up and make significant contributions over the summer. Instead, I have the Packers entering the season with just their top three. In the event of an injury, they could promote another running back to the active roster or sign a free agent.

It will be exciting to see the Aaron Jones-AJ Dillon partnership this season. Losing Jamaal Williams hurts, but Dillon has shown he’s more than ready to step up with a greater role this year.

Wide receivers (6)

Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers, Juwann Winfree

The top five at wide receiver look set with Randall Cobb returning. He’s a roster lock along with Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and rookie Amari Rodgers. Cobb and Rodgers can add a lot to the Packers’ offense, and it’s great that they’re now teammates after Cobb has mentored Rodgers in the past.

The question is whether the Packers will keep a sixth wide receiver on the roster and, if so, who will they choose? Veteran Devin Funchess and Malik Taylor will compete for the spot if they keep six, but I have gone with training camp standout Juwann Winfree. Winfree has been earning praise so far at camp and may well force Green Bay to keep him on the 53.
