For the most part, the Green Bay Packers haven’t had too many concerning injuries so far at training camp.

That said, the injury list is growing with a number of star players either limited or held out at practice. One of them is running back Aaron Jones.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Jones is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Many important Packers players including defensive tackle Kenny Clark and edge rusher Rashan Gary are dealing with injuries at the moment.

According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Jones was “working on the side with the rehab group” during Monday’s practice.

Other players currently dealing with injuries include training camp standout wide receiver Juwann Winfree, receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, and inside linebacker Kamal Martin.

Hopefully none of the injuries are serious.

The Packers are usually extra cautious this time of year, especially when it comes to injuries like a hamstring issue. It makes little sense taking any unnecessary risks on the practice field which could risk making an injury worse. So close to the start of the regular season, that wouldn’t be the right move.

With Jones out, Silverstein noted that second-year running back AJ Dillon was “getting a lot of work” with the first-team offense. That’s the only positive to take away from Jones missing practice. Dillon gets some valuable reps with the first-team offense. The Packers are going to need Dillon to play a significant role on offense this year, so the additional first-team snaps will help him.

Hopefully Clark and Gary will be able to return soon too. Receivers Winfree and St. Brown are battling for a spot on the 53-man roster. They can’t afford to miss much time. Winfree has been impressive so far at training camp and has made a strong case for a roster spot.

As ever, we’ll await further details on each player’s injury status when head coach Matt LaFleur next speaks to reporters.
