Packers: Aaron Rodgers third, Davante Adams sixth in NFL Top 100
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is third, WR Davante Adams sixth in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2021 rankings.
We knew Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams would be in the top 10 of the rankings. We just didn’t know exactly where the Green Bay Packers‘ two superstar players would be.
Now we know. On Saturday, the final 10 were revealed in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2021 rankings.
Rodgers, the MVP of the league and all-time great quarterback, comes in at No. 3. His favorite target and the NFL’s top wide receiver, Adams, is No. 6.
It’s hard to have too many arguments with that, especially when considering the great players also inside the top 10.
Rodgers is the reigning MVP, but it’s tough to argue with Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Donald as the top two players in the NFL entering the 2021 season. Along with the top three, Travis Kelce and Derrick Henry are also ahead of Adams in the rankings, but he’s the top-ranked wide receiver.
Rodgers and Adams both sat out of the entire preseason, giving opportunities to the other players at quarterback and wide receiver. But this pairing will be ready to go for the Packers in the regular season, starting in the opener against the New Orleans Saints in two weeks.
The two combined for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. Both Rodgers and Adams were first-team All-Pros and Pro Bowlers. Rodgers led the league in passing touchdowns. Adams led the league in receiving touchdowns.
No QB-WR duo could come close to the dominant play of Rodgers and Adams in 2020, and there’s no reason why they can’t have just as much success this year, their third season together in Matt LaFleur’s system.
With Rodgers and Adams now revealed inside the top 10, the Packers have a total of six players in this year’s NFL Top 100.
