Which players should the Packers consider putting in a waiver claim for?

There’s a reason why it’s called an initial 53-man roster. As early as today, the Green Bay Packers could make changes.

With cut-downs taking place across the league over the past few days, a number of talented players will now hit waivers. The Packers will have the opportunity to put in some waiver claims in order to strengthen their depth at positions they need help at.

It won’t be easy for the Packers to actually land any of the players they put in a waiver claim for as they are near the bottom of the order. The waiver order is the same as the 2021 NFL Draft, which puts Green Bay at No. 29. Twenty-eight other teams will have priority to make a waiver claim ahead of the Packers.

Over the coming days and weeks, we will see general manager Brian Gutekunst continue to rework the 53-man roster. If a player he believes can help the team becomes available, it could lead to some changes to the roster.

This afternoon, many players who were cut yesterday will find new teams. Here are three waiver-wire adds the Packers should seriously consider.
