Davante Adams vs. Marshon Lattimore

The Saints have some concerns at cornerback when it comes to depth, but leading the way is Marshon Lattimore, a three-time Pro Bowler and former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. New Orleans will need Lattimore to put in a good performance, and that will likely include plenty of matchups with All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

The Packers have the offensive firepower to hurt the Saints’ defense elsewhere, and you can be sure Aaron Rodgers will have no hesitation making the most of favorable matchups across the field. But when he needs to make a play the most, Adams is the target more often than not.

Last season, it often didn’t matter who was covering Adams. Whether he was lining up outside or in the slot, Adams was a matchup nightmare for defensive backs and close to unstoppable. He caught 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns, despite missing two games, which included Green Bay’s Week 3 meeting with New Orleans.

The Saints know they can’t allow Adams to take over this game. If he is at his best, the Packers’ offense will likely put the game out of the Saints’ reach.

This is a must-see matchup and will be key to determining the outcome of this game.
