Why the Packers will get back on track in Week 2.

OK, let’s try this again. Last week, I gave three reasons why the Green Bay Packers would defeat the New Orleans Saints and, well, never mind.

It’s a new week in the NFL and the time for looking back at that game is over. The Packers’ focus has shifted towards Monday night and the Detroit Lions, a game they need to win to get back on track ahead of a tough part of the schedule.

Fortunately, the other three teams in the NFC North were defeated in their season openers, meaning we’re all level in the division entering Week 2.

Monday night, on primetime, Green Bay has the opportunity to silence some critics and put in the type of performance we’ve come to expect from this team. Show that Week 1 was just a blip, an exception to what will be another great season.

Tougher games may await, but this is one the Packers need to win. It’s also one they will be expected to win, at home against a rebuilding Lions team.
