3. Packers don’t lose back-to-back games under Matt LaFleur

6-0.

That’s the Packers’ record in regular-season games immediately following a loss under Matt LaFleur. Not only has his team not lost too often, but they have bounced back each and every time. In the three games following defeats last season, Aaron Rodgers threw a combined 12 touchdown passes without an interception. His former teammate and Packers fullback John Kuhn believes he could go ‘scorched earth’ in Week 2.

Would it be a surprise if Rodgers put together one of his best performances of the LaFleur era? It certainly wouldn’t. He’ll feel he has a lot to prove. After the uncertain offseason he had, and now the criticism this team is receiving, Rodgers will want to put that right in Week 2.

And he couldn’t have asked for a better matchup. While the Lions will be a tough opponent, as the 49ers found out in the fourth quarter last week, and this is a divisional game, the Packers will be expected to win and win big.

If there was a lack of focus last week, that should all be gone now. LaFleur’s team was given a reality check and came crashing back down to earth thanks to the Saints.

LaFleur has a great record of getting the Packers to bounce back from a loss. It will be no different this week.
