What must the Packers do to defeat the 49ers in Week 3?

Another season, another chapter in the recent rivalry between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers.

Doesn’t it always feel like the Packers play the 49ers on the road? Four of the past five meetings between these two teams have been played at Levi’s Stadium. It always makes for a tough challenge for the Packers, who have a poor recent record on the west coast.

That said, the Packers did win on their most recent road game against the 49ers, a 34-17 victory in 2020. However, the Niners were hit with some of the worst injury luck in the league and were without many key starters.

That won’t be the case on Sunday Night Football this week. Green Bay faces a difficult challenge against San Francisco, with Kyle Shanahan’s team entering the game undefeated with two road wins to open the season.

Playing in the 49ers’ home opener, and on a short week, the Packers will need to be at their best to avoid losing for the second time in their first three regular-season games.

Let’s look at three keys to victory for the Packers on Sunday night against the 49ers.
