The Packers made a red-hot start and had the 49ers defense fooled.

Few teams can compete with the Green Bay Packers‘ offense in the red zone.

Between Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Robert Tonyan, along with Matt LaFleur’s genius play designs, the Packers can be close to unstoppable down in the ‘gold zone’.

The offense made a fast start at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday night against the 49ers. After Rodgers found Marquez Valdes-Scantling for 47 yards, the reigning MVP connected with Adams again in the red zone, giving the Packers 10-0 lead.

As we’ve seen countless times, LaFleur’s beautiful play design had the defense fooled.

Adams’ fake motion caused the defense to react, which played perfectly into the Packers’ hands. This allowed Allen Lazard to come in for the block, and by the time Adams turned around, he had a clear path into the end zone. Rodgers wasn’t going to miss out on this one.

It’s the perfect start for Green Bay against a team it has had a poor recent record against. We’ve seen this team fall behind early against San Francisco, and things can fall apart quickly when that happens.

To have any chance on Sunday night, Green Bay needed to make a fast start. And they have achieved this, taking a 10-0 lead into the second quarter.

LaFleur’s game plan has worked well so far. The offense has been able to move the ball on the ground, while Rodgers has got the ball out quickly. After one quarter, Rodgers is 9/9 for 127 yards and a touchdown with a passer rating of 155.8.

When Rodgers has dropped back to throw deep, the pass protection has held up, with the MVP connecting with Allen Lazard for 42 yards, then MVS for 47.

A great start for the Packers at Levi’s Stadium, and a beautiful play design helped them find the end zone in the opening quarter.
