Drew Lock

Jordan Love might be the favorite to replace Rodgers in 2022, but that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed the job. It’s entirely possible the Packers bring in some competition, especially if they have concerns about whether Love will be ready to start next season.

The Denver Broncos have been one of the top teams rumored to be interested in trading for Rodgers. This season has showed how badly they need some quarterback help. Let’s imagine it actually happens in the offseason. Could the Packers bring back Drew Lock as part of the deal?

Lock was a second-round pick by the Broncos in 2019 but things haven’t worked out for him as of yet. But he’s still a young quarterback and a fresh start could be just what he needs. Maybe a move to Green Bay and an opportunity to play in Matt LaFleur’s offense could help him pull off a Ryan Tannehill.

The Packers were rumored to have interest in Lock in the 2019 NFL Draft, a year before they moved up for Love. The Broncos traded up ahead of the Packers in the second round to select Lock, so perhaps they also believed there was interest from Green Bay.

If the Packers still like Lock’s potential, perhaps he could move the other way in a Rodgers-to-Denver trade.
