Few teams have been as impressive as the Green Bay Packers this season.

Sitting atop the NFC with an 8-2 record, the Packers have defeated some very talented teams this year and have one of the most balanced rosters in football.

With Aaron Rodgers, the Packers have won their past eight games. Their only defeat since the season opener came in Week 9 when he missed the game due to Covid-19.

After a shutout victory over the Seattle Seahawks last week, the Packers have claimed top spot in the updated NFL Spin Zone power rankings.

Packers lead the way in NFL Spin Zone Week 11 power rankings

Randy Gurzi has released his updated NFL Spin Zone power rankings for Week 11 and, unsurprisingly, the Packers have taken over top spot.

“Couple this defense with Aaron Rodgers quarterbacking them and you have the No. 1 team in the NFL,” wrote Gurzi.

It really is a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.

For many years, Green Bay’s defense has been the problem and held the team back down the stretch. Not this season. Despite a shaky start as they got comfortable in a new scheme, Joe Barry’s defense has come to life in recent weeks.

Green Bay’s defense ranks No. 3 in the NFL, dizzying heights Packers fans aren’t used to. The unit ranks No. 3 against the pass, No. 13 against the run, and No. 3 in points allowed.

Let’s not forget that Za’Darius Smith and Jaire Alexander — the team’s top two defensive players — have missed almost the entire season to date. Both players could be back before the end of the regular season, a scary thought for opposing offenses.

The Packers’ offense doesn’t light up the stat sheet this season, but they haven’t been helped by scoring just three points in Week 1 then struggling without Rodgers in Week 9. We also haven’t yet seen the Packers hit their 2020-best offensively often enough, but it’s only a matter of time.

All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari will be back in the lineup soon, a huge boost for Green Bay’s offense.

This is one of the most complete teams in the NFL without many weaknesses. Top of the NFC over halfway through the season, Green Bay is currently the team to beat.
