When Aaron Jones limped off the field against the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers fans feared the worst.

Fortunately, Jones avoided a major injury, suffering a sprained MCL. Even with that good news, it’s unlikely many expected him to be back at practice already, less than two weeks on from the injury.

But Jones was indeed out there on the practice field today. According to the Packers’ injury report, Jones was a limited participant.

And he sure looked to be moving comfortably in this video.

Will Jones be able to return this week? It would still seem unlikely as he would only be two weeks removed from the injury, but only time will tell.

The Packers are often extra cautious when it comes to injuries, not wanting to risk rushing a player back too soon. So unless Jones is 100 percent, it would seem unlikely he’ll be ready to return in time for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Green Bay’s bye is next week, which would make all the more sense to rest Jones against the Rams and give him those extra couple of weeks before the Packers host the Chicago Bears in Week 14. The team will need their number one running back for the stretch run and postseason.

Regardless of whether he plays this week or not, it’s great to see him back out on the practice field so soon, a good indication his injury wasn’t too serious and that his return shouldn’t be far away.

Four players didn’t practice for the Packers on Wednesday: Aaron Rodgers (toe), David Bakhtiari (knee), Kevin King (hip/knee), and Malik Taylor (abdomen).

With the Packers dealing with so many injuries, next week’s bye will be welcomed. An opportunity to get a much-needed week of rest and recovery before the return of December football.
