Week 18: at Detroit Lions

It wouldn’t feel right if the Packers didn’t close out the season with a game against the Detroit Lions. We no longer have to worry about the Packers giving the Lions their first win of the year — the Vikings took care of that last week.

In an ideal world, Green Bay would already have the number one seed wrapped up here and could rest the starters. In all likelihood though, that won’t be the case. The Arizona Cardinals are a game ahead, so they’d need to lose at least two games between now and Week 18 for the Packers to already have the top seed wrapped up.

So we can likely expect to see the starters out there in this one, unless there is nothing to gain in the standings. Maybe if the top seed is out of reach.

The Lions will battle hard as they always do in these games, but the Packers should be too strong and get the win. Especially if the top seed is still on the line.

Green Bay closes the season out perfectly after the bye week, but will this be enough for home-field advantage?

What are your predictions for the final five games?
