Packers: Davante Adams climbing up all-time receiving rankings
Davante Adams is arguably the best wide receiver in the Aaron Rodgers era, and he’s quickly becoming one of the top pass catchers to ever play for the Green Bay Packers.
The numbers back it up, too.
Adams is closing in on some big milestones in the Packers’ record books.
Adams is currently ranked sixth in Packers franchise history for receiving yards. By the end of the regular season, he could be much higher on the list. Adams currently has 7,651 receiving yards for Green Bay but is only 197 behind Jordy Nelson, 340 behind Don Hutson, and 483 behind Sterling Sharpe.
If Adams can put up 484 receiving yards in the final five games of the season, he would move into third all-time for the Packers behind only Donald Driver (10,137 yards) and James Lofton (9,656).
Let’s talk about receiving touchdowns.
Adams currently had 67 receiving touchdowns, which ranks third in Packers franchise history. With just two more, he will tie Jordy Nelson’s 69. Three more receiving TDs would put Adams on his own in second place. There’s still some way to catch Don Hutson (99), though.
With his numbers this season, Adams has already jumped up into second all-time for the Packers in receptions. He started the year with 546, which at the time ranked fifth in franchise history. He has since overtaken Jordy Nelson (550) and Sterling Sharpe (595).
With 626 receptions in his career, Adams is now second all-time Packers franchise history. He’s still 117 receptions off the all-time record set by Donald Driver (743). Adams will need to sign a new deal to remain in Green Bay long enough to set the record.
You name a receiving statistic, Adams ranks near the top in franchise history.
Whether he plays in Green Bay beyond this season or not, Adams will go down as not only one of Aaron Rodgers’ best targets, but also one of the franchise’s all-time greats at wide receiver.
