The Green Bay Packers are producing another winning season as they look to make it to the Super Bowl.

Being one of the top teams in the NFL this season and leading the NFC North by a mile, it is fair to say that Green Bay will sail their way to the playoffs.

To bring the prestigious Lombardi Trophy home to Green Bay, there are three areas the Packers must improve on before the playoffs.

Special teams

Special teams has been an area of concern for the Packers this season. Star kicker Mason Crosby is having a rough season as he has made 18-27 field goals with a success rate of 66.7%, which is currently second-worst in his career. If Crosby continues to struggle, it may be costly for the Packers especially in the postseason.

The Packers have also struggled in kick returns by allowing opponents to gain excellent field position. The lack of discipline in that area is evident. This is an area that must be fixed before the playoffs. Allowing multiple solid kick returns will be a disaster if the Packers don’t clean it up.

Secondary

Once again, the defensive secondary continues to be an issue for the Packers.  With superstar cornerback Jaire Alexander missing multiple weeks due to injury, the secondary hasn’t played to their potential.

The acquisition of Rasul Douglas has made the secondary better with one forced fumble, two interceptions, and eight passes deflected already this season. Eric Stokes has also played well but has had his fair share of rookie moments.

The good news is Alexander could be returning very soon which will boost production for the secondary.

Blocking

The offensive line has had some issues due to injuries. Left tackle David Bakhtiari has missed the entire season so far with a knee injury which is huge. The Packers are beyond ready for his return which will hopefully be very soon.

It is absolutely critical for the offensive line to effectively block for Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is the heart and soul of this team and losing him would be devastating. Bakhtiari’s return should help the offensive line get back in-sync.
