Predicting Packers’ final four games of regular season 2021
Week 17: Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best offenses in football. The Packers learned that the hard way a few weeks ago. But playing offense becomes that much more challenging in frozen Lambeau Field conditions.
The Packers know how to be efficient when the weather gets cold. They will lean on AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones to find success against a Vikings defense allowing 129.5 yards per game on the ground, which ranks as sixth-worst in the NFL.
Unfortunately for the Packers, if this becomes a battle of two rushing offenses, the Vikings will be up to the challenge. Led by Dalvin Cook, the Vikings have the No. 11 rushing offense. Last season, Cook rushed 30 times for 163 yards and three touchdowns in a Vikings win at Lambeau Field.
Green Bay’s defense has come a long way since then. That loss to Minnesota was also the Packers’ last regular-season defeat at Lambeau Field. They don’t lose all too often at home, especially late in the season.
The Vikings sure love a close game — 12 of their 13 games this season have been decided by one score. They know how to win, but also lose, close games.
Minnesota could be playing for a spot in the postseason here, but it’s Green Bay that wins at home.
Prediction: Green Bay 27, Minnesota 24 (13-3)
