The Green Bay Packers will be playing the Baltimore Ravens without star quarterback Lamar Jackson on Sunday.

Jackson has been dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week. He’s now been officially ruled out of this afternoon’s game.

The Packers have released their inactives for the game, which includes left tackle David Bakhtiari, right tackle Billy Turner, and wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown.

Along with Jackson, the Ravens have ruled out defensive tackle Calais Campbell and guard Ben Powers.

The good news for Green Bay is that wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling is active despite being listed as questionable on the injury report due to a back injury. He gives the Packers’ offense a big boost ahead of the game.

COVID-19 has also had an impact on this game.

Green Bay will be without star defensive lineman Kenny Clark as he is on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Baltimore has five players on the reserve/COVID-19 list — wide receiver Sammy Watkins, safety Chuck Clark, cornerback Jimmy Smith, center Trystan Colon, and cornerback Chris Westry.

The big news is Lamar Jackson being ruled out. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. His rushing ability could’ve given the Packers’ defense some real problems. Now Joe Barry’s defense will need to be ready for backup quarterback Tyler Huntley, who impressed last week with 270 yards and a touchdown.

While the Packers will enter this game as favorites, it’s far from an easy win. The Ravens will miss their MVP quarterback but they are still a talented team and are Super Bowl contenders for a reason.

Matt LaFleur’s team still needs to go on the road an win, not an easy thing to do.

If they needed any added motivation, here’s some. The Detroit Lions lead the Arizona Cardinals 27-6 in the fourth quarter at the time of writing. A Lions win would help the Packers in the race for the No. 1 seed.
