Can the Packers win their final two regular-season games in 2021?

The Green Bay Packers‘ path to the NFC’s number one seed couldn’t be any clearer.

Win their remaining two games and they will secure home-field advantage for the second season in a row. Lose one, and they open the door for the red-hot Dallas Cowboys to take over first place.

Simply put, the only way Matt LaFleur’s team can guarantee the top seed is to win both of their remaining games, at home against the Minnesota Vikings and on the road against the Detroit Lions.

Entering Week 17, Green Bay holds a one-game lead over the other NFC division leaders. The Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Los Angeles Rams are all 11-4.

Should it come down to a two-team tiebreaker, the Packers would currently lose the tiebreaker with the Cowboys due to conference record. For now, they have a one-game advantage over the Buccaneers in conference record. Green Bay has the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Rams, and also the Arizona Cardinals should they win the NFC West.

If the Packers win out, they are the NFC’s top seed. If they lose one game or both, there’s a good chance they’ll have to settle for the second, third, or fourth seed.
