LaFleur’s team is significantly better than on that day and is better prepared to stop the Niners’ strong rushing attack. Green Bay’s offense is also improved from that season.
And while the 49ers’ defense is still one of the best in the league, it’s not quite as dominant as it was back in 2019 when they had DeForest Buckner and Richard Sherman put in All-Pro seasons.
